The brewing of the coffee in the traditional filter and enjoying it piping hot along with the south Indian breakfast is indeed an idealistic way to kickstart the day. Every family has their own recipe for this customary drink which is known by various names like Kumbakonam degree coffee, coffee, kaapi, Mylapore filter coffee and Madras kapi.
Ingredients
(Serving for 3 to 4 persons)
Milk: 2 cup
Sugar as required
Water: 1 ½ cups
Coffee powder: 3 tsp
Step 1
Add hot water and coffee powder in the filter and leave it aside for brewing for at least half an hour.
Step 2
Boil milk in a saucepan along with sugar.
Step 3
Pour it in a tumbler and add ¼ cup of coffee decoction to it.
Step 4
Give it a good mix and pour it in the serving dish making it frothy. Serve it immediately.
