New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Madhubani to participate in a programme marking National Panchayati Raj Day at around 11:45 AM tomorrow. During the visit, he will inaugurate, lay the foundation stone, and dedicate to the nation multiple development projects worth over Rs 13,480 crore, addressing the gathering on the occasion.
At the National Panchayati Raj Day programme, the Prime Minister will present National Panchayat Awards to recognize and incentivize best-performing Panchayats. He will also distribute benefits worth approximately Rs 930 crore under the Community Investment Fund to over 2 lakh Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in Bihar under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM).
To boost housing initiatives, the Prime Minister will hand over sanction letters to 15 lakh new beneficiaries of PMAY-Gramin and release instalments to 10 lakh PMAY-G beneficiaries nationwide. He will also mark the Grih Pravesh of 1 lakh PMAY-G and 54,000 PMAY-U houses in Bihar by handing over keys to some beneficiaries.
In a push for rail connectivity, the Prime Minister will flag off the Amrit Bharat Express between Saharsa and Mumbai, the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail between Jaynagar and Patna, and trains between Pipra and Saharsa and Saharsa and Samastipur. He will inaugurate the Supaul Pipra rail line, Hasanpur Bithan Rail line, and two 2-lane Rail Over Bridges at Chapra and Bagaha, while dedicating the Khagaria-Alauli Rail line to the nation. These projects aim to enhance connectivity and drive socio-economic development in the region.
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone for power sector projects worth over Rs 1,170 crore and inaugurate multiple projects worth over Rs 5,030 crore under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme in Bihar. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for an LPG bottling plant with a rail unloading facility at Hathua in Gopalganj District, worth around Rs 340 crore, to streamline the supply chain and improve bulk LPG transportation efficiency.
