Ghaziabad: The Indian Air Force is celebrating 88th Air Force Day today.It was on this day that the Air Force in India was officially raised in 1932 as the supporting force of England’s Royal Air Force. Watch the video of the flypast organised today at the Hindon Air Force base today.
President Ram Nath Kovind, who is also the Supreme Commander of Indian Armed Forces, tweeted: “On Air Force Day, we proudly honour our air warriors, veterans, and families of the Indian Air Force. The nation remains indebted to the contribution of the IAF in securing our skies and assisting civil authorities in Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted with a video to congratulate the IAF. “You don’t only keep the nation’s skies safe but lead from the front to serve humanity during the time of crisis. Your courage, bravery and dedication to protect Ma Bharati inspires everybody,” he tweeted in Hindi.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said the Nation was proud of its men and women in blue and salutes the prowess of the IAF as it stands ready to face challenges and deter adversaries. “We remain committed to enhancement of IAF’s combat capability through modernisation and indigenisation,” he tweeted.
