CBI has not ruled out the abetment to suicide angle in connection with Rhea’s role
Mumbai: Post the granting of bail to actress Rhea Chakraborty in the drug related allegation in actor Sushant’s death, she was reported to be presenting herself to the Santacruz police station as a routine prescribed by the Bombay High Court. Having obtained bail on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh, the court cleared her of charges of belonging to a drug supply chain that created the premise for easing her out.
Meanwhile, the actress is also getting relief on other fronts too, with the nodal agency Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) giving her a breather in the course of its investigations related to the financial and abetment to suicide angles.
From an earlier story break recall it has become clear that the allegations made by Sushant’s family have failed to stand up to the scrutiny of CBI investigations compounded by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) report finding.

For, Contrary to Sushant Singh Rajput family lawyer’s contention that it was a strangle to death murder case, the very source the family lawyer attributed his contention to, namely the AIIMS has declared that it is a clear suicide case. The findings of the AIIMS report is identical with the probe resulting from the CBI investigation. This now makes it interesting as earlier, Rajput family’s counsel had stated that he was frustrated about the CBI not pronouncing it as a murder case.
Further discrediting the family’s contention that there was a strong financial manipulation angle to the actor’s death related forensic report audit has revealed there is no trace of suspicion on scrutiny of all transactions. The nodal agency’s findings negate the theory that actress Rhea Chakraborty had acted out of financial greed resulting in Rajput’s suicide.
The nodal agency is now left to turn its attention in the probe to other angles that include a possible role the actress could have played in abetting professional rivalry or nepotism in the film industry, the drug abuse theory and also Rajput being under the weather owing to unstable mental health.
Rhea’s handling of the financial transactions that were probed by the CBI reveal that she had been instrumental in handling Rs. 55 lakhs in the five-year period and most of these expenses were accounted for on travel, spas and gifts. Furthermore, the amount mentioned is almost a drop in the ocean as the actor over the five-year period had incurred a total expense of Rs.70 crore.
The CBI has however, not ruled out the abetment to suicide angle in connection with Rhea’s role in the Sushant death case. The siphoning funds theory leading to Sushant’s death has not found favour with the CBI investigations. The nodal agency took the official line that they have kept all angles open and are continuing with the probe. Besides, Sushant’s death with earlier manager Disha Salian’s suicide theory has also been discredited in course of the investigations. The active angle now rests with professional reasons though there is no sign of any actor of film personality being reckoned by the CBI.
Interestingly, the Mumbai Police has also come up with a fresh angle that the actor’s death was used as a platform to discredit and demoralize the city police force by floating hundreds of scores of fake social media accounts that originated from different countries in the West and the Arab world, severely bad-mouthing the efforts that were made by the men in uniform.
