Lagun na custard
The wedding custard or lagun na custard is a mouth watering Parsi dessert recipe that is traditionally prepared for a wedding ceremony. Made with simple ingredients like egg, milk, sugar and nuts, lagan nu custard is the parsi take on the classic creme caramel.
Ingredients
Full cream milk : 4 cups
Sugar : ½ cup
Butter : 2 tsp
Egg : 3
Vanilla essence : ¼ tsp
Nutmeg : 2 dash
Cream : ½ cup
Nuts for garnish
Step 1
Boil the milk along with sugar until it reduces to half of its actual quantity.
Step 2
Add the cream, essence, nutmeg and mix them all together.
Switch off the flame and let it cool down.
Step 3
In a separate bowl beat the egg. Finally add the beaten egg to the cool milk mixture.
Step 4
Grease the baking dish with butter and pour the milk mixture over it and sprinkle the nuts. Bake it for about thirty minutes at 160 degree Celsius. Use a toothpick to check it and if it comes out clean it’s done.
