Churma is a traditional sweet and is often served along with the popular dal bati in Rajasthan. It is a humble dish prepared with a few basic ingredients like coarsely ground whole wheat flour, jaggery and ghee and is a part of festive food.
Ingredients
(Serving for 3 to 4 persons)
Whole wheat flour: 1 cup
Powdered sugar: ¼ cup
Melted ghee: 3 tsp
Cardamom powder: ¼ tsp
Step 1
In a large bowl mix together whole wheat flour and 2 tsp of melted ghee.
Step 2
Add the required amount of water to knead a hard dough. Cover and let it rest for 15 to 20 minutes.
Step 3
Divide the dough into small-sized balls. Press each of the balls into the shape of your fist.
Step 4
Fry the disc in medium hot oil until golden brown.
Step 5
Blend the muthias into a fine consistency.
Step 6
Add the powdered sugar, cinnamon powder and the remaining ghee and mix it all well.
