New Delhi: Following the extension of lockdown period for two more weeks from May 3 as a measure to contain COVID-19 pandemic, all passenger train services will remain cancelled till May 17, 2020, a Ministry of Railways spokesperson stated here today.

However, movement of migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students and other persons stranded at different places shall be carried out by Shramik Special trains, as required by the State Governments, in terms of the guidelines issued by Ministry of Home Affairs, the spokesperson stated, adding that Freight and Parcel train operations shall continue, as at present.[the_ad_placement id=”content-placement-after-3rd-paragraph”]
