(In the state of deep reflection on Meharshi Sri Aurobindo’s The Life Divine).
Where every moment of life is passing into history,
the upcoming moments are pregnant with sundry possibilities!
Yet, what I will do with waters immeasurable in the ocean,
only when I need a few precious drops of it for my salvation!
Even for freezing on the path to a destination,
the innumerable hours consumed for profound rumination!
When meeting people, craving for their attention,
remained the sole motivation!
Yet with every moment passing by in quick succession,
the remaining moments appear to be generous reparation!
The swords of death hanging in menacing gesticulation,
the sinking chance of life going astray causing disconcerting consternation!
Should I leave this world in utter frustration,
dying like flies, knowing no destination?
With the worldly carrots dangling as a distraction,
the exigencies of time warrant a caution!
This is the only life, either squander it or, take it to fruition!
Make your life a success and attain liberation, or,
playfully spoil it for another incarnation!
But to be born as a human,
I should have a divine mission,
in order to fructify that divine mission,
I should have a humanly executed vision!
Irrespective of the taste of success or failure,
the mind and soul shall converge to say,
‘ Your life is finally a consummation’!
