Surat: Braving Corona virus threat and lockdown, two Surat-based doctors set example and performed angioplasty to save life of a sixty year old man on 30th March, the National Doctor’s Day!
On 30th March, at around 1 30 am at night, Dr Bilal Hidayat a physician working in Surat got a call from a 60-year-old man’s son from a village in rural area of Surat District saying that his father was having acute chest pain along with perspiration for the last 10 minutes.
Dr. Hidayat responded immediately and activated his Emergency Response Team at Venus Hospital in Surat city and directed the patient’s son to bring him to the hospital immediately. The doctor continuously remained on phone line to ensure continuous observation and guidance to the patient.
At 2 am the patient was received by Dr. Bilal Hidayat along with Dr. Dhaval Shah at the hospital. He was in gross cardiac failure due to Acute Myocardial Infarction (Heart Attack). He was given continuous attention from 2 am to 6am in morning and was given Artificial Breathing Support and was stabilized till morning.
In the morning angioplasty was done and the patient was discharged on medication after 2 days’ stay in hospital.
“It is our duty to treat our patients. We are only performing our duty. But at the same time we also appeal to the general population and especially the youth to stay indoors to help the nation fight the spread of this viral infection,” Dr. Hidayat told globalbihari.com
