New Delhi: Two powerful earthquakes in quick succession jolted North India on Friday. The epicentre of the first earthquake 0f 6.3 magnitude had its epicentre in Tajikistan that was felt strongly even in New Delhi occurred at 22:31:33 IST on Friday.
The second tremor measuring 6.1 on Richter Scale had its epicentre at the depth of 10 km in Amritsar which jolted entire North India at 22:34:40 IST . The India Meteorological Department pinpointed the epicentre at Latitude 31.57 N and Longitude, 75.09 E.
The extent of damage is yet to be ascertained.
