We captured two photos in two different cities miles apart. Country is gradually reopening in Unlock 1, but there is a need to enforce safety norms to prevent COVID-19 pandemic to spread further. We find the basic norm of maintaining physical distance was missing at this temple in Patna. The traffic snarls in Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh bordering Delhi offered another scary picture of what looked as if the entire city had come on road after the Delhi government reopened its borders with its neighbouring states.
As it is, Delhiites seem to have thrown caution to winds and the added inflow of traffic from neighbouring cities of the National Capital Region is only going to add to the trouble in a city where Corona cases are constantly rising. Taking a contradictory stand, Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on Monday overruled Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s decision to reserve Delhi’s state government-run hospitals only for Delhi’s residents for COVID-19 treatment. Morevoer, what sounds even more ominous is the report that Kejriwal himself is now suffering from fever ad that he will undergo COVID test tomorrow.
