Smoke of Life: A beautiful short film with a powerful message
Smoke of Life is a powerful short film on smoking not only kills but how it affects the lives of the smoker’s dear ones. The story editing and direction is done by Anirban Ray, a journalist from Muscat Daily. Hamad the chain smoker who passed away is Anirban. Chain-smoker’s role was done by Lovel Balakrishnan. Shopkeeper who refused cigarette is Shafeer and the little boy Rakin Zaki is actually a class 3 student. Hamad’s brother is Kabeer Yousuf.

globalbihari.com contributor from Muscat and senior journalist, Vinod Raghavan, too played a small role of a person who lent his cigarette to the chain smoker just for a puff. “It is not just that smoking badly affect passive smokers but it affects the entire family and the film so brilliantly portrays this aspect,” Raghavan said.
