The Bombay Catholic Sabha, which appreciated the speed in which Mumbai Police and particularly Mahim Police team apprehended the culprit, stated it would be appropriate if the police shared the information in the public domain.
The president of the Sabha, Dolphy D’Souza, told Global Bihari that the possibility of the involvement of more than one person in the crime cannot be overlooked given the number of artefacts vandalised at the cemetery, although the CCTV could capture just one person.
The Sabha further urged the Mumbai Police to investigate the motive behind “such mindless” vandalisation of the St. Michael’s Church graveyard “which rattled the Community and the Citizens who visit this Church in large numbers every Wednesday”.
