Jhal Muri
Jhal Muri is a popular Bengali street food snack known for its spicy and tangy flavour. Made with puffed rice along with spices and seasoning, the delicious snack is a boon for weight-watchers.
Ingredients
(Serving for 2 to 3 persons)
Muri or puffed rice: 1 cup
Onion: 1 finely chopped
Potato: 1 boiled and diced
Cucumber: 1 finely chopped
Tomato: 1 small chopped
Green chilli: 3 chopped
Roasted peanuts: 2 tsp
Roasted chickpeas: 2 tsp
Roasted cumin powder: 1 tsp
Chaat masala: 1 tsp
Red chilli powder: 1 tsp
Lemon juice: ½ tsp
Mustard oil: 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Step 1
In a large mixing bowl combine puffed rice, chopped onions, cucumber, tomato, potato, green chilli, peanut, chickpeas and coriander leaves.
Step 2
To this add salt, chaat masala, cumin powder and red chilli powder. Drizzle mustard oil over the mixture.
Step 3
Gently mix all the ingredients until well combined. Ensure that the muri gets evenly coated with all spices and seasoning.
Step 4
Serve immediately in a paper cone or bowl. Enjoy the spicy and tangy flavours of Jhal Muri as a delicious snack.
