Mumbai: There was a war of words between counsel for defence and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) lawyers on the theory that the actor was strangled to death and it amounted to a murder case. While Rajput family lawyer voiced the opinion that the CBI was for some reason delaying the decision to explore this angle, the CBI made a statement that nothing has been ruled out and every angle shall be probed into.
The agency insisted that it was conducting a professional investigation and their sleuths are continuing with the job.

Vikas Singh, the actor’s family lawyer expressed his dismay in the CBI’s “delay” in registering a murder case instead of suicide. Singh quoted an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) team member who expressed the sentiment that it was a sure case for strangulation. The team member had given his statement based on the autopsy report that was shared with him. Singh further felt frustrated that the CBI was slow to act on the probe.
However, Singh’s claim was refuted by an AIIMS team member who said they were yet to submit their findings to the CBI team and their meet with the CBI team has not been scheduled so far.
Meanwhile counsel for the accused Rhea has asked the investigating agency for setting up a fresh medical board to ensure a free and fair probe.
