“He Is“, a short film pays tribute to the common man whom we meet everyday in offices, roads and malls. It was released tis year on November 19 -International Men’s Day. it raises awareness on the mental and emotional health of men.
He is… is a story of a man Kabeer Yousuf, who is accidentally hit by a biased woman (Sheena Hiren) in a mall parking, and changes her mindset in course of their brief interaction.
Anirban Ray, the director of the film said said, “The unfair idea of toxic masculinity has filled the social structure. It is the time to break such a norm. Misandry must be countered with right tools and films are an excellent medium.”
The film neither portrays victimisation nor slams any gender. It is merely an eye opener to the many stereotypes that media, ad world, news reporting and even social structure have about men.
