Wall papers and their utility
Wall papers are popular and they add spice to a room. They offer many options as they come in a variety of colours, styles and textures. They are easy to install and can be pasted quickly without creating a mess that a routine paint job creates.
Why wall papers?
Wall paper is an art and ornament of interior design rather than covering a surface. Designing a wall and its placement is also an art rather than architectural work. One should select the wallpaper matching with lights and other interior decorating factors in the space.
If you are looking for wall papers, here are some handy tips:
Look for the right choice for your wall: Wall papers are plain, mixed and patterned but there is no formula or technique to select a wall paper. Going by the ambience that you want to create in your room, modern as well as antique theme can be used. But before you order, be careful because large patterns may not look good in small rooms as they tend to make the room look even smaller. So you can see that wall papers can transform a room in ways that paint just can’t and adds different dimension.
Go for the right mix: Go for plain and light coloured wall papers for passage and corridors because they make a space look large. Designed and mixed wallpapers go well with living room. Pleasantly patterned wall papers are appropriate choice for Family rooms.
Do the right planning: Same wall paper in the partition of a room don’t look good. To break monotony, you may use different patterns and designs. In large bedrooms, open pattern looks best while plain and light walls with some dark decoration on the wall may be appropriate for small ones.
Criteria for installation: The criteria for installing wallpapers largely depends on size utility. It is not necessary to cover all walls with wallpaper. Wall paper can also be used on the ceiling. Use of vertical stripes in patterns on ceiling that make the ceiling appear higher where as horizontal stripes or patterns seem to widen a room and bring the ceiling down.
Installation: Smooth and dry surface are prerequisite for pasting wall papers. Quality adhesive and expert workmanship is also essential for installation,
