President Donald Trump’s vitriolic attempt to thwart President-elect Joe Biden from assuming office on the count that the 2020 election results were an outcome of fraudulent manipulation, has met with a strong repartee from US Attorney General, William Barr, who averred that there were absolutely no grounds for this claim after the Justice Department completed its probe on the matter.

Barr further mentioned that till this date in history there is no record of any such fraud as alleged by President Trump. Donald Trump who is still on a high-horse on the electoral fraud allegation seems to have been dealt a severe body-blow. It may be recalled that Trump along with his legal battery have engaged in litigation about the election results in the states he had lost out to Biden.
Biden had inflicted defeat on Trump by a significant margin of 306 to 232 votes in the electoral college. In terms of numbers, Biden had won over 6.2 million more votes than Trump. This emphatic victory has been followed close on heels by repeated allegations that are so far unsubstantiated by Trump that it was an outcome of a massive voter fraud. The defence team that was backing Trump tried to portray it as an international conspiracy to unseat Trump from the hot seat.
Undaunted by the Attorney General’s remarks, President Trump continued to tweet and reiterate his contention about the results being an outcome of a massive electoral fraud. The allegation by the Trump camp claim implies that the machines were pre-programmed to bring about a win for Biden. Implying that a systemic fraud had been employed for trigger this result, the allegation has so far found no grounds.
The lack of proof angle has found substantiation from the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Department of Homeland Security that conducted a probe on this aspect, according to Barr. However, inputs coming from DOJ contended that the probe is yet to be completed and there will be a very thorough examination of any evidence at the disposal to indicate a fraud. When Barr started out after the allegations first made the light, he had ordered a very thorough probe on anything substantial that can be indicative of a fraud.
Counsel for Trump, advocates Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis countered the Attorney General’s latest announcement that it is not backed by knowledge or proper investigation into the irregularities that took place at the electoral arena.
