Biden won Hawaii that helped him widen the slender margin he held in the electoral college. Besides, the former Vice-president is also reported to be gaining grounds in Michigan and Wisconsin. Pennsylvania is unlikely to create any reversals in the electoral fortunes of Biden. However, the postal ballots remain to be counted, which can be termed as the proverbial last delivery of the match.
As of now, as counting progresses, Biden had secured 238 electoral votes as against Trump’s 213. There are currently 538 electors, and an absolute majority of electoral votes, 270 or more, is required to win the election.
Biden expressed confidence in a public address that he was confident about gains in Arizona. He summed up the upbeat feeling in his camp, stating, We are in the right track. He however, sounded a self-cautionary note, stating, It’s not all over till all the votes are counted.

While Republican Donald Trump, who is seeking reelection, threatened to stop the counting by invoking a Supreme Court intervention, Biden said his camp was ready in the event of an legal battle. Meanwhile, president Trump is scheduled to address the nation, a little while ahead.
