Rasam
Known by different names like saaru in Kannada, charu in telugu and rasam in Tamil, this flavoursome dish is made on a daily basis in a south Indian household. Since rasam has a runny consistency, it can be relished as a soup or even enjoyed as a side dish with rice, vada or idiyappam. Made with lentils, tamarind and tomato pulp, rasam tastes best in the rainy and winter season and tastes amazing due to its own seasoning ingredients.
