New Delhi: Shooting for the first ever TV serial based on the life of the famous 15th century spiritual Guru Ravidas was started at Shri Guru Ravidas Vishram Dham Mandir, Karol Bagh, here on Guru Ravidas Jayanti on February 27.
Actor Radhe Shyam will portray the role of Guru Ravidas and Actress Rupanjali Tank will be seen as the wife of Guru Ravidas and the serial, Daleet Masiha, will be shot at venues in Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.
The TV show will be aired on Doordarshan. The serial’s producer, Puran Dawar said, this was the “first ever show based on Guru Ravidas’ life through which people will get to know about his life journey which will inspire them”.
Vijay Sharma, director of the serial informed that the team researched a lot about the life of Guru Ravidas, spoke to the people before it decided to shoot a 52 episode show. “Guruji was a part of Bhakti Movement, we will portray his life journey from his childhood for which we will prepare the sets as it is difficult to find locations which are similar to that era,” he said.
