Jaisalmer: The Chief of Army staff, General Manoj Mukund Naravane commended the Southern Command of the Indian Army for its successful dry run of implementing integrated application of forces in Multi Domain Operations in consonance with India’s military aspirations. The exercises that were aimed at providing an umbrella coverage for the entire spectrum of conflict was overseen by the Army Chief at an undisclosed location on his two-day visit to the location.
The exercise that had been named Dakshin Shakti was conducted by the Southern Command in the presence of the Army Chief. As a prelude to the final displays, the Army units practiced tactical and operational manoeuvres by its Infantry, mechanized formations, besides pressing into force its airborne troops in a mock combat situation.
There were also endeavors of operationally testing future technologies. It included the versatile and indigenous airborne platforms such as Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH), Swarm Drones besides technologies that employ the Artificial Intelligence domain. The techno-heavy exercises were an amalgamation of Intelligence, Surveillance and Recce (ISR) Architecture.
The airborne technologies were pressed into service to act in a coordinated manner with the ground troops during the Southern Command’s practice session. The Army Chief later emphasized on the need to continuously focus on evolving new tactics, techniques and procedures that will keep our country prepared for any future wars that loom in the horizon. He also spoke on the necessity to enhance our fighting capabilities in the deployment of both manned and unmanned systems.
