Mumbai: A over 12,000-page charge sheet filed by the nodal Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) related to actor Sushant Singh Rajput death case has accused actress and Sushant’s former girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty along with her brother Showik for being instrumental in continuously procuring and supplying narcotic drugs to the deceased actor.
The NCB in its charge sheet strongly contended that the series of raids it had conducted on the residential premises of several well-known personalities from the film fraternity yielded a huge quantity of narcotic drugs worth well over INR 30 lakhs in the Indian markets. The NCB has further pointed out that their testing that was conducted on articles seized from these film fraternity people had turned out to be positive. The list of persons testing positive also includes Kshitji Ravi Prasad. The charge sheet filed by the NCB is attached with these test reports.

Actress Rhea who was the central figure in the list of accused even before the NCB stepped into investigate the Bollywood-Drug nexus angle, has been charged with using her HDFC bank account to procure and supply drugs to Sushant. In addition, the nodal agency in its charge sheet has also specified instances where Rhea’s direct role in procurement of narcotic drugs had surfaced during its investigations. While the NCB attributed the financing role to Rhea, the charge sheet has accused her brother Shwoik of getting in touch with drug peddlers and arranging for the logistics in enabling physical supply to Sushant.
The evidence presented by the NCB in its charge sheet impeaches a total of 33 people besides Rhea and has cited sufficient evidence on records to book them. The evidence placed on the records by the NCB included WhatsApp chats, bank transactions, and the facts brought to light that revealed Rhea’s direct role in procurement of drugs. The charge sheet also contended that there was incriminating evidence to prove its accusations. It further said, the nature of evidence included digital data that was unearthed, mobile call record details, WhatsApp chats, disclosures from location tags, video recordings among other things.
It may be recalled that subsequent to the Enforcement Directorate that was investigating the money trial in the Sushant Rajput case finding out from the transaction details an alleged link between Rhea and the drug cartel, the NCB jumped into the fray. Over the months following commencement of its investigation on the drug angle, it had conducted several arrests in this connection. As of now actress Rhea Chakraborty is out on bail. The nodal agency will soon be submitting its charge sheet to the court. The NCB investigations also extended to conducting a crackdown on drug peddlers from different parts of the city.
