Mumbai: In a recent narrative emerging from the stables of India’s external intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW), the notoriety of late fugitive don Dawood Ibrahim’s brother is gaining grounds rapidly. The latest ground cited for this was that Anees Ibrahim Kaskar, Dawood’s sibling who is based in Pakistan for a long time has fully taken charge of the operations of “D-Company”.
The news as disclosed to this reporter from R&AW’s outpost at Islamabad is that the sensational Sushant Singh Rajput death case was the handiwork of Anees Ibrahim at the behest of a top Bollywood fraternity who had brooked for a supari killing.
The identity is still to be established and confirmed and throws up supportive evidence on the early findings of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) enquiry that were reported in sections of the media. The reports also implied that there was a strong possibility of the case being a murder with a botched cover-up attempt that the CBI may soon unearth.
The star’s murder angle apart, the increasing clout and threat posed by Anees in film and business fraternity is taking a new dimension. Earlier, the August 18 notification list of all designated terrorists also naming Dawood, has been firmly slammed as a cover up by a reliable source from India’s external agency R&AW which had earlier disclosed the information about the fugitive Don Dawood Ibrahim’s death more than a month back.

The recent media report citing August 18 notification list of all designated terrorists also naming Dawood, has been firmly slammed as a cover up by a reliable source from India’s external agency R&AW which had earlier disclosed the information about the fugitive Don Dawood Ibrahim’s death more than a month back. The agency source also reaffirmed that post the don’s expiry, his brother Anees Ibrahim Kaskar also stationed in Pakistan for a long time has taken over the operations of the mafia.
It may be recalled that the report of Dawood’s death had poured in after it was learnt that GHQ Rawalpindi had eliminated the don. In addition to reaffirming Dawood’s elimination, R&AW attributed it to the don having long outlived his utility to his host country and turned into a liability with international pressure pouring in from various quarters trying to pressurise the Pakistan government that if they fail to confirm and cooperate in Dawood’s arrest, they may find themselves on the grey list.
The source cited the reason for the recent cover up bid that is happening is that the Paris based agency Financial Action Task Force (FATF) was keen on getting Pakistan into the grey list category. This move is the part of an effort that is being made by the agency to review Pakistan’s compliance in fighting terror and money laundering.
