Barh: An eighteen year old pedestrian was beaten to death by the occupants of a four wheeler when he did not give side to their vehicle on National Highway 31 under Barh police station area in Patna district late last night.
Police said here today that the deceased has been identified as Golu Kumar, a native of Hasanchak locality of Jalgovind village. He was returning by watching a dance function. He repeatedly ignored the horn sound and did not give way to the car. The offenders thrashed him badly and dumped him by considering him half-dead.
Police said other villagers returning from the dance programme noticed the boy lying on the roadside and rushed him to Barh sub divisional hospital where he was declared brought dead. Infuriated over the incident, local people blocked National Highway 31 with the body which was finally lifted following the intervention by local police officers. The body had been sent for autopsy.
