PM expresses grief over the loss of lives due to fire at Srisailam hydroelectric plant
Hyderabad: In all nine people including five engineers of TS Genco died in a devastating fire in Left Bank Hydel Power Station at Srisailam in Telangana. The deceased included a woman also.
Sources said about 25 employees were on duty when the fire broke out reportedly because of a short circuit on Thursday night. Rescue Teams of Central Industrial Security Force-National Disaster Response Force were deployed to rescue the trapped workers.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao ordered a CID Inquiry on the accident. on Friday. An Additional DGP rank officer would probe the matter and submit a report to the government.
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the loss of lives due to fire at the Srisailam hydroelectric plant. He said, “Fire at the Srisailam hydroelectric plant is deeply unfortunate. My thoughts are with the bereaved families. I hope those injured recover at the earliest.”
