Rajasthani masala chhaas
The delicious refreshing and healthy chhaas or buttermilk is the perfect way to beat the scorching heat of Rajasthan. The flavourful masala chhaas is often served with breakfast and lunch as a cooling effect in the unbearable Rajasthani heat.
Ingredients
(Serving for 2 to 3 people)
Curd: 1 cup
Chilled water: 1 cup
Black salt: ½ tsp
Chaat masala: ¼ tsp
Cumin powder: ¼ tsp
Green chilli: 1 finely chopped
Grated ginger: ¼ tsp
Asafoetida: a pinch
Chopped coriander leaves: 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Step 1
In a mixing bowl add curd, water, cumin powder, black salt, chaat masala, salt, asafoetida, grated ginger and green chilli. With the help of a hand blender, mix everything until smooth and creamy.
Step 2
Pour the chhaas into the serving glass. Garnish with Coriander leaves and serve chilled along with dal-bati and churma.
