Amritsar: The country had commemorated centenary of Jallianwala Bagh Massacre from April 14 last year to April 13 this year. Since a large number of tourists were expected to visit the memorial to pay their respect to the martyrs on the 100th year of their martyrdom here, the memorial was being renovated and was closed to the visitors from February 15 to April 12 this year, and was to open for public to pay their homage on the fateful date of 13th April. However, because of the lockdown, this could not happen and even the renovation work got affected. Now, a Culture Ministry press release says that due to the COVID-19 crisis, the Jalianwala Bagh will continue to remain closed for the visitors till July 31.
