Patna: The season of turncoats has set in election bound Bihar with party hoppers looking for greener pastures.
A day after senior Dalit leader Shayam Rajak was sacked by the ruling Janata Dal (United), he joined the main opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal in the presence of a visibly happy Tejaswi Prasad Yadav on Monday.

However the smile on Tejaswi Prasad Yadav’s face proved short-lived as three RJD MLAs — Maheshwar Yadav, Prema Choudhary and Faraz Fatmi — went the other way, joining the JD(U) after their expulsion by RJD.
For Rajak,a seven time MLA from Phulwari Sharif constituency in Patna district, it was homecoming for him as he had joined the JD(U) after resigning from RJD in 2009.
Sources in the RJD said that Rajak was left with no option than returning to RJD fold as the JD-U had decided to deny ticket to him. In fact the JD-U has decided to field Arun Manjhi from Phulwari Sharif reserved constituency.
Talking to newsmen after joining the RJD Rajak also admitted that he was feeling sidelined in JD-U and had not been even invited to a party function held in his constituency recently.
Rajak joined the RJD after taking blessings of party supremo Lalu Prasad yadav who is in jail at Ranchi in connection with his conviction in multi crore fodder scam.
On the other the three RJD MLAs who joined the JD-U were opposed to projection of Tejaswi Prasad Yadav as the chief ministerial candidate of the Grand Alliance comprising RJD and Congress among other parties.
The three MLAs-Maheshwar Yadav, Prema Choudhary and Faraz Fatmi -were expelled from the party yesterday on the charges of anti-party activities.
