New Delhi: In the past, Sanjay Sudhakar Hande had composed the song “Unki Yaad Karein” written by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, as well as the “Song of Youth” of former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.
This Sunday, on the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17, 2023, Hande will add another feather to his cap, when his musical CD of Modi’s poetic elegy, ‘Vande Mataram…Apni Shaan (Vande Mataram…Our Pride) will be launched at the Akashvani Rang Bhavan here. Not only has he composed the music of Modi’s poetic ode, but has also sung it in his melodious voice!
As for Modi, no doubt he does a Vajpayee by penning the poem like the former prime minister!
Hande, a renowned musician of Akashvani, in his career has also worked with renowned singers like Anuradha Paudwal, Suresh Wadkar, A. Hariharan, Sadhna Sargam, Sudesh Bhosle, and Ranjana Joglekar among others. He nurtures an ambition of setting up a music school to promote Indian music.
“Vande Mataram, Ye geet nahi, Ye apni aan,baan aur shaan hai…”
Prime Minister Modi originally wrote this poetic ode, ‘Vande Mataram… Apni Shaan‘, in Gujarati and it has been translated into Hindi by Dr. Anjana Sandhir, a renowned psychologist and scholar of Hindi, English, Urdu and Gujarati languages. Dr. Anjana Sandhir’s articles written in Hindi, English, Urdu and Gujarati are regularly published in journals in India and abroad. Her ghazals, poetry collections, memoirs, and books on English language and psychology are not only read but are also taught.
The launch programme of the musical CD will be presided over by Indresh Kumar, a member of the National Executive of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. The programme has been organized under the aegis of New Delhi-based NGO Motherland International Foundation in collaboration with Muslim Rashtriya Manch and All India Radio, New Delhi. On the occasion, Dr. Shahid Akhtar, President of Muslim Rashtriya Manch, will deliver the welcome address and the introductory address will be given by Dr. AK Agarwal, President of Motherland International Foundation, according to a Motherland International Foundation press release.
