The evening today 

The impact of the cyclone Nivar was experienced in Sri Lanka in moderate spells of showers in areas in North-western, Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Jaffna, Mannar, Galle and Matara districts. Showers and some places had thundershowers in Uva province and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts.

Close shave with overall moderate impact.The cyclone subsided over a period of 24 hours.
