Srinagar/New Delhi: An ASI and a Selection Grade Constable of Jammu and Kashmir Police were killed and 14 personnel were injured when terrorists opened fire at their police vehicle in Zewan area at Pantha Chowk on the outskirts of Srinagar today.
All the injured personnel were evacuated to a hospital. Area cordoned off. Further details shall follow, the Jammu and Kashmir Police tweeted.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sought details on the terror attack and also expressed condolences to the families of those security personnel who were martyred in the attack.
Earlier today, the police had informed about an encounter at Rangret area of Srinagar in which 2 unidentified terrorists were killed. While search was going on, further details were awaited.
On December 12, the police had killed one unidentified terrorist in an encounter at Baragam area of Awantipora. On December 10, terrorists had killed a policeman in Bandipora.
