Ahmedabad: At least six people were killed and eight injured in a chemical godown fire at Pirana-Piplaj Road, here on Wednesday. A portion of the godown collapsed following a powerful explosion, officials said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed “anguish over the loss of lives due to the fire and in a tweet conveyed condolences to the bereaved families. “Prayers with the injured. Authorities are providing all possible assistance to the affected,” he stated.
