Mumbai: With the State reeling severely under a second wave of the pandemic, the Maharashtra Government today decided to impose very strict restrictions in the state effective from 8 a.m tomorrow till 7 am on May 1, 2021. During this period Section 144 will be enforced and only essential services will be exempted from the nearly lockdown like situation.
Maharashtra Chief Minister, Uddhav Thackeray said, technically it was not a lockdown, but only an instance of severe restrictions that are necessary to curb the spread of the virus.
As Mumbai braces to face a second wave of total shutdown, people who felt at ease after a long phase of restricted movement, will be getting back into the shell.
As the much awaited announcement hit the airs, hordes of migrants queued up at railway terminals and long distance bus stations in anticipation of a de-ja vu of what transpired once the first lockdown fell in place. Instantly social media platforms and local television channels were flooded with pictures of reverse migration.
