Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Umar Mushtaq Khandey killed in encounter
Srinagar: Unidentified gunmen today evening killed a panipuri hawker Arbind Kumar Sah, 45, who hailed from Banka in Bihar. Terrorists also gunned down a migrant labourer from Uttar Pradesh, Sagir Ahmad, in Pulwama.
A Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO), Ajay Singh, alongwith a jawan, Naik Harendra Singh, too were martyred on the sixth day of the search operation to track down terrorists in Mendhar and Surankote forests of Poonch and Thanamandi in Rajouri. So far nine Army personnel, including two JCOs, have been martyred in the ongoing counter-insurgency operation in Kashmir.

Meanwhile, a Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Umar Mushtaq Khandey, was among the two terrorists who were killed in an encounter with security forces in Pampore area of Pulwama district today, and incriminating materials including arms and ammunition were recovered from them. Khandey was involved in killing of two police personnel at Baghat Srinagar and other terror crimes.

The Kashmir Zone Police informed that so far 13 terrorists had been killed in 9 encounters after civilian killings. “We have neutralised 3 out of 5 terrorists of Srinagar City within less than 24 hours,” Vijay Kumar Singh, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, stated.
The Bihari vendor, Sah, was declared as brought dead after he was gunned down near the Eidgah area of the city. He is the second Bihari to be shot down in the last 11 days in Srinagar. On October 6, another Bihari street food vendor, Virender Paswan, was gunned down by the terrorists.
The Kashmir Zone Police, in a tweet, also confirmed death of Saharanpur’s Sagir Ahmad, in Pulwama.
