New Delhi: The President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, underwent cardiac bypass surgery today morning (March 30, 2021) at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.
According to the President’s secretariat, the surgery was successful. “He is stable and is being closely monitored by a team of senior doctors,” it stated.
On Friday, the 75-year-old President had complained of discomfort in his chest and had visited the Indian Army’s Research & Referral Hospital for a health check-up. Thereafter he was shifted to the AIIMS, New Delhi, in the afternoon of March 27, 2021. Post investigations, doctors had advised him to undergo a planned bypass procedure.
