Our Strength, Our Planet
Earth groans, it sighs in deep pain,
Water, forests, hills softly weep.
Vasundhara, our dear Mother,
Fields, barns, and peaks capped with snow,
Deserts’ sands that scorch the feet,
Once sang sweet songs of pure life.
Now her throat is choked with grief,
Exploited, scarred by human greed.
Earth Day calls, a solemn plea,
Worshippers of Mother, hear now!
Ganges’ flow fades, wilts in gloom,
Chambal’s waves writhe, twist in pain,
Himalayas shake, Aravali cries.
Progress fells our forests fast,
Hyderabad’s trees scream at night, Floods ravage Chhattisgarh’s lands,
Uttarakhand drowned in wrath, Cities grow mounds of foul waste,
Bengaluru thirsts, Delhi weeps.
Ram shared grief in the forest’s shade,
Jatayu, vanaras gave him aid.
Krishna’s flute sang Yamuna’s tune,
Govardhan rose to shield the green.
Vedas chant, Puranas call loud,
Earth, water, fire, air, and sky— Divine dwells in these five truths.
Peepal, banyan, tulsi, shami, Sacred guards of Earth’s own grace,
Forbidden to touch—why then cut?
Constitution’s soul cries aloud,
Nature’s exploitation is sin!
Rights and duties urge us all,
Save each creature, plant, and tree.
Yet mining tears the land apart,
Boreholes yield just air, not streams.
Heat breaks records year by year,
Cities burn, villages sink fast.
Rajasthan seeks Chambal’s flow,
Aravali’s wall brings faint hope.
Earth Day’s not a day, but an oath,
Change the mind, let hearts reform.
Make rivers clear, forests green,
Halt destruction, not progress.
Ganges pleads, Earth wails in pain,
Hear, arise, time dries to dust.
Our strength, our planet, we vow,
Saving it is our true dharma.
