New Delhi: Farmers from different parts of the country were stopped from entering Delhi respectively at the UP Gate in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, and at Narela Police Station at Haryana -Delhi border today morning.
The agitating farmers thereafter sat on a dharna (sit in) at the UP-Delhi border.

The farmers owing allegiance to one of the influential farmers’ bodies in the country, Bharatiya Kisan Union, were on their way to Jantar Mantar, the popular demonstration site near Indian Parliament House, in New Delhi. They are protesting against the tabling of three farming related ordinances in Parliament to make them the law. These bills are: The Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020.; The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Prices Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020; and, The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Ordinance, 2020.
