There is much controversy over the death of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Many dispute his death in a plane crash in Taiwan. Some historians have gone to the extent of suggesting that there was no plane crash in Taiwan on August 18, 1945. Many blame the then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru of hiding the truth about Netaji.
Today, the Congress Party tweeted: “A national hero, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s dedication towards our Nation has been a source of inspiration for millions of Indians. We pay our heartfelt tributes to him today, on his death anniversary, for fighting unrelentingly for a free, united and prosperous India.”
However the tweet set ablaze the web with many twitteraties denouncing the Congress tweet. “He didn’t die on 18th August. You betrayed and lied to the nation,” tweeted one. Another tweet stated: “Since there is a question on his death. Is it not improper to give such notifications…” One more tweeteratty argued: “A party which didn’t even recognise INA is putting up posts for Netaji. How low can these people stoop? His death still remains a mystery just like Shastriji’s. Facts have been suppressed and we’ve been left to wonder. Netaji would’ve made a perfect PM. Just saying. Unrelated.”
The West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, too tweeted about the Netaji death controversy: “On this day, in 1945, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose went on a flight from Taihoku Airport in Taiwan, only to disappear forever. We still do not know what happened to him. People have a right to know about the great son of the soil.
