With two nodal agencies, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) already carrying out investigations in the Sushant Singh Rajput case, things got murkier when the Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) decided to arrest actress Rhea Chakraborty in a drug related offence connected with the actor.
Initially there was demand for CBI to get into the fray to establish solid evidence for abetment to suicide case. This again took a new turn with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) trying to find out whether there were financial transactions that indicated transfer of funds from Sushant’s bank account to that of Rhea’s.

Now a third angle has kept in with the NCB putting up a charge that she was related in\ drug supplies related cases implying that Sushant was subject to addiction by some means. The exact framing will get clearer by the morrow.

The actress was brought forth in front of a local court by means of video conferencing. The court appearance was disclosed by KPS Malhotra Deputy Director NCB. It was reported that the actress informed the NCB investigative team that she had no connections or dealing with drugs during the course of questioning.
The theory doing the round was that she was connected to suppliers of narcotic drugs. Allied with that was the mention of Sushant being supplied with regular dosage of such drugs. At the time of going to press, unofficial sources sounded that she is slated to undergo medical examination early Wednesday evening at Sion hospital.
Post testing, the NCB plans to lodge her at their temporary lockup cell that will be reserved to house women prisoners. Meanwhile it was reported that she had tested negative for a Covid-19 test.
Earlier, there were statements by BJP MP Subramanian Swamy to a television channel that Rhea’s name had figured in an attempt to destroy Sushant’s career and health prospects. Here too, Swamy alleged that a regular drug feeding theory was also doing the rounds.
