Complete lockdown in Manipur till August 31
Hyderabad/New Delhi/Imphal/Raipur: More people with “good health and no co-morbidities” are dying from the Coronavirus in Telangana. According to health experts and doctors treating Covid-19 patients in the state, these deaths are mainly due to late reporting at hospitals.
The Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry has expressed concerns over the increasing number of such deaths in Telangana.

The latest government figures updated till Saturday showed 1864 new cases, 1912 recoveries and 10 deaths in the state in 24 hours.
Out of 1864 cases, 394 cases were reported from Gandhi Medical College and Hospital here.
The total cases in the state thus far reached 90,259. Total active cases were 23,379 and total deaths reported were 684. In all 66,196 patients had so far been discharged.
In the meantime in Chhattisgarh a record high of 13 Covid deaths were reported during the last 24 hours till Saturday in Chhattisgarh. While 451 new cases were found in the state on Friday, of these cases, 142 were reported from Raipur and 59 from Durg.
While in New Delhi, Home Minister Amit Shah and in Tamil Nadu, Governor Banwarilal Purohit recovered from Covid-19 and tested negative, in Maharashtra the State Cooperation Minister Balasaheb Patil tested positive for coronavirus infection and was taken to a hospital in Karad. He is the seventh Minister of the state government to test Covid positive during the last three months. Maharashtra has reported over 5.73 lakh Covid cases and active cases are 1.51 lakhs. So far 19,427 corona related deaths have been confirmed in the state.
In Manipur, the state government in the meantime has extended complete lockdown in the state till August 31 in view of detection of large number of COVID-19 cases. In the state 130 more people tested positive for COVID-19 in 24 hours since Saturday, One person succumbed to the disease taking the toll to 13 in the state.
In Punjab, as Covid cases continued to spike amid fears of the peak hitting the state in the next few weeks, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh announced extension of the night curfew from 9 p.m. to 5 pm to all cities, along with a slew of other measures to control the spread of the pandemic.
Overall in the country, the health ministry report stated 65,002 new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours till Saturday. This took the total confirmed cases of the COVID-19 patients to 25,26,192 in the country and with 996 deaths reported in the last 24 hours till Saturday, the total deaths rose to 49,036 in the country.
