Sindhi Batar Papdi Chaat
The Sindhi Batar or Batan Papdi Chaat is a popular Sindhi snack made with Batan – a hard bun toast, tossed with chutney and masala.
Ingredients
(Serving for 2 to 3 persons)
Hard buns: 2 to 3
Boiled potato: 1 small
Onion: 1 diced
Tomato: 1 diced
Tamarind chutney: 2 tsp
Green chutney: 2 tsp
Chaat masala: ½ tsp
Roasted cumin powder: ½ tsp
Red chilli powder: ½ tsp
Lemon juice: 1 tsp
Sev: 2 tsp
Chopped coriander leaves: 2 tsp
Step 1
Cut the buns into two halves. Keep them aside.
Step 2
In a large mixing bowl, add diced potato, chopped onion, tomato, green chilli, chaat masala, red chilli powder, salt and lemon juice. Give them all a good mix.
Step 3
Arrange the sliced buns on a plate. Top with the potato mixture and sprinkle chaat masala.
Step 4
Drizzle the green chutney and the tamarind chutney. Garnish with sev and enjoy the Sindhi Batar Papdi Chaat.
