Shakarkandi Ki Chaat
The roasted Shakarkandi (sweet potato) ki chaat is a quick and easy recipe and a highly loved street food in Delhi. The flavourful recipe is tangy, spicy, and sweet, perfect for a light and healthy snack.
Ingredients
(Serving for 2 to 3 persons)
Shakarkandi: 3 to 4 medium-sized
Lemon juice: 2 tsp
Chaat masala: 1 tsp
Roasted cumin powder: ½ tsp
Red chilli powder: ½ tsp
Black salt: ½ tsp
Salt to taste
Green chilli: 1 to 2 finely chopped
Coriander leaves: 2 tsp chopped
Pomegranate seeds: 2 tsp (optional)
Step 1
Roast Shakarkandi until soft on an open flame for a smoky flavour.
Step 2
Let them cool slightly, peel off the skin and chop them into bite-sized cubes.
Step 3
Put the Shakarkandi cubes in a large mixing bowl. Add chaat masala, roasted cumin powder, salt, black salt and red chilli powder.
Step 4
Squeeze lemon juice over the mixture and toss everything well. Mix in chopped green chilli and coriander leaves. Transfer the chat to a serving dish and garnish with pomegranate seeds for a pop of sweetness.
