Ram Ladoo
Ram Ladoo, the crunchy and golden fried lentil dumpling is one of the various street foods of Delhi. This is crispy and tastes best when topped with spicy chutney and grated radish.
Ingredients
(Serving for 3 to 4 persons)
Moong dal: 1 cup
Chana dal: ¼ cup
Grated ginger: 1 tsp
Green chilli: 3
Hing: a pinch
Cumin seed: 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
Step 1
Wash and soak both the dals with enough water for about 4 to 5 hours.
Step 2
Drain the excess water. Coarse-grind the dals together without adding water to it.
Step 3
Transfer the batter to a large mixing bowl. To this add the grated ginger, thinly sliced green chilli, cumin seeds, hing and salt. Mix them all together.
Step 4
In the meantime heat oil in a deep frying pan.
Step 5
Take a small ball-sized batter and press it slightly between your palms.
Step 6
Gently drop in the oil and fry them in batches until golden brown. Make sure to fry them evenly from both sides.
Step 7
Once done take them out in an absorbent paper. Serve hot with chutney and grated radish.
