New Delhi: The President of India has transferred Goa Governor Satya Pal Malik and appointed him as Governor of Meghalaya. He will be replacing Tathagata Roy whose five-year tenure by serving as governor of Tripura for three years and the remaining in Meghalaya comes to an end.
Following Malik’s transfer, Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari will discharge the functions of the Governor of Goa in addition to his own duties, a President’s Secretariat press communique stated here on Tuesday.
It added that the above appointments will take effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices.

Malik was earlier Governor of Jammu and Kashmir when its special status under Article 370 was abrogated in August 2019.
