Tamenglong: It was a historic day for Manipur today as for the first time even since Independence, the first goods train reached Rani Gaidinliu railway station in State’s Tamenglong district. The goods train will roll upto Kaimai Road railway station in Imphal East district of the State, Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw, informed.
The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, lauded the first ever goods train that reached Rani Gaidinliu Railway Station and said that Manipur’s connectivity will be enhanced and commerce will be boosted.
“Transformation of the Northeast continues. Manipur’s connectivity will be enhanced and commerce will be boosted. Wonderful products from the state can travel all over the nation,” Modi tweeted.
G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister For Culture, Tourism And Development Of North Eastern Region (DoNER), reiterated the government’s committment towards enhancing infrastructure connectivity and economic prosperity in the North Eastern Region.
