Kolhapur: A new direct daily flight from Kolhapur to Bengaluru, inaugurated today by Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Minister of State for Civil Aviation, General Dr Vijay Kumar Singh (Retired), is expected to bolster tourism and trade activities in the region.
The route will be operated by IndiGo seven days a week.
With the inauguration of this route, Kolhapur is now aerially connected with Hyderabad, Tirupati, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Bengaluru.
The flight will operate as per the following schedule:
Scindia said that focusing on the development and progress of Kolhapur, an investment of 245 crores is finalized for the construction of a new airport terminal, expansion of the runway, and the establishment of an ATC tower.
The inauguration was attended by Prof. Sanjay Sadashivrao Mandlik, MP, Lok Sabha, and Ruturaj Sanjay Patil, MLA – Kolhapur South. Besides, SK Mishra, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, R. K. Singh, Principal Advisor, IndiGo, among others.
