Over 84000 people displaced in the State
Mumbai: The official death toll in rain related incidents including landslides, was pegged at 138, across the districts of Maharashtra. Kolhapur region alone accounted for 36 of these deaths. The number of people displaced has crossed the 84,000 mark.

Over flowing drains coinciding with high tide and heavy downpour wrecked havoc in the coastal Raigad belt along the Konkan stretch. In many instances, people were swept away by the floods. The weather alert has cautioned for timely safe evacuation.
According to India Meteorological Department, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls very likely to continue over west coast including Maharashtra today and isolated heavy falls thereafter. Further reduction in rainfall intensity is very likely along the west coast including Konkan and Goa and adjoining interior Maharashtra during next 24 hours.
