New Delhi: In light of the fast-changing international trade scenario, the Centre has operationalised a dedicated ‘Global Tariff and Trade Helpdesk’ to assist stakeholders in navigating emerging trade issues.
The Ministry of Commerce & Industry today stated that the Department of Commerce and the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) are actively tracking developments in global trade, particularly in relation to tariff changes, import surges, and export-related challenges.
The helpdesk will address issues related to import and export challenges, import surges or dumping, EXIM clearance, logistics or supply chain challenges, financial or banking issues, regulatory or compliance issues, and other issues or suggestions. It will also collect and collate trade-related issues concerning other Ministries/Departments/Agencies of the Central Government and State Governments, and will coordinate to seek their support and provide possible resolution(s).
Stakeholders can submit their issues on the DGFT website under ‘DGFT Helpdesk Service’, or via email to dgftedi@nic.in, or call the toll-free number 1800-111-550. The status of resolutions and feedback can be tracked using the status tracker on the DGFT website. Trade stakeholders are encouraged to utilise this facility.
DGFT is a government agency in India, responsible for regulating and promoting India’s foreign trade. Its primary functions include regulating imports and exports; issuing licenses and permits for imports and exports; monitoring trade policies and regulations; providing support to exporters and importers; and promoting India’s trade interests.
