Rajak, who represents reserved Phulwari assembly constituency in Patna district had joined the JD(U) in 2009 after deserting RJD.
Though it is too early to say if Rajak episode will trigger exodus from the JD-U, the development is definitely a cause of concern for the ruling party as it has coincided with toughening stand of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP),one of the constituents of NDA at the Centre.
By all indication Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan led Lok Janshakti Party will opt out of NDA in Bihar and political observers do not rule the possibility of realignment of political forces in the state.
As it is Chief Minister Nitish Kumar apart from battling anti-incumbency has also been bogged down by the double whammy of COVID-19 and floods in the state .
In a related development, the RJD also expelled three of its o MLAs on Sunday for indulging in ‘anti-party activities’.Prema Choudhary, Maheshawar Yadav and Faraz Fatmi, son of former union minister MA Fatmi, have been shown the door by the RJD.
